1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the RYDZ Platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.
RYDZ provides a platform that connects passengers with independent drivers for transportation services. RYDZ is not a transportation provider or driver and does not control the actions of individual drivers or passengers.
2. Use of the Platform
- Eligibility: Users must be at least 18 years old. Users aged 13–17 may register and use the Platform only with verifiable parental or legal guardian consent. RYDZ may request and verify consent through designated means.
- Account Registration: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- License to Use: RYDZ grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Platform solely for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
- Account Suspension or Termination: RYDZ reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts without notice if users violate these Terms or applicable laws.
3. User Responsibilities
- You must ensure your pickup and drop-off details are accurate to avoid delays or failed rides.
- You agree not to impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity.
- You agree not to use the app for fraudulent, harmful, or illegal purposes.
4. User Conduct
- Prohibited Activities: Harassment, discriminatory behavior, abuse of the platform, and attempts to harm or defraud others are strictly prohibited.
- Compliance: All users must comply with all local, national, and international laws as applicable.
5. Booking and Cancellation
- Advance Bookings: Riders may book rides up to 30 days in advance.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 1 hour before the scheduled pickup time to avoid cancellation fees. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged a fee.
- Driver No-Show: If a driver does not arrive or cancels, users will not be charged and may request another ride.
6. Payments
- Fare Estimates: Estimated fares are shown before booking. Final fare may vary based on route changes, delays, or waiting times.
- Payment Methods: RYDZ accepts cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile money where supported.
- Third-Party Fees: You are responsible for any charges imposed by your bank or payment provider.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, software, and intellectual property on the Platform belong to RYDZ or its licensors. You may not copy, distribute, or use any content from the Platform without prior written permission.
8. Notifications
By using the Platform, you agree to receive SMS, email, or push notifications related to your ride status, driver updates, account activity, or safety alerts. You can control notification preferences in your device settings.
9. Third-Party Services
Our services may rely on third-party providers such as Google Maps (for navigation), payment gateways, and analytics tools. Your use of those features may be subject to their separate terms and privacy practices.
10. Safety and Liability
- Safety Protocols: We take safety seriously. Reports of unsafe or inappropriate behavior may result in suspension or termination of a user's account.
- Limitations: RYDZ does not guarantee the actions or conduct of any user or driver. All rides are undertaken at the user's own risk. To the extent permitted by law, RYDZ shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Insurance: Drivers are required to maintain their own insurance in compliance with local laws.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If not resolved within 30 days, the matter shall be submitted to binding arbitration under Malawi law.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malawi. Users outside Malawi agree to submit to its jurisdiction and laws.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Platform after such updates constitutes acceptance.
