What you need

Everything below is uploaded in the RYDZ Captain app. Documents can be a PDF, a photo or a document file.
About you

- Certificate of fitness (COF)With its number and expiry date.
- Vehicle insurance certificateWith the policy number, insurer and expiry date.

- Vehicle detailsMake, model, number plate, year, chassis number, passenger seats, fuel, colour and whether it has air conditioning.
How approval works
From download to online.
Every captain is reviewed by RYDZ before they can take rides.
Get the app
Download RYDZ Captain from Google Play on your Android phone.Sign up
Use your email and password, your Google account, or a one-time code sent to your email.Set up your profile
Add your photo, name, phone number and driving licence. The app keeps you on setup until everything needed before you can go online is complete.Add your vehicle
Upload the COF, insurance certificate and four vehicle photos, and fill in the vehicle details.Submit for review
Your account is marked pending approval and each document is marked pending review.RYDZ reviews
Each document is marked verified or rejected, and RYDZ approves, rejects or suspends captain accounts.Fix anything flagged
Account checks shows Under review, the items to fix, or All clear. Each issue has a Fix now button: a pending, rejected or expired licence, insurance or COF, vehicle photos, or no active vehicle.Go online
Once you're all clear, go online and choose the vehicle you're driving.
Approval is enforced by RYDZ
New captains always start pending approval. A pending, rejected, suspended or banned captain can’t switch their own account to active; only RYDZ can.
Ride requests
You choose which rides to take.
Go online and pick the vehicle you're driving. Open requests near you are listed nearest first, and for each one you decide.
Your options for each request

| Send your own offer | Adjust the price and send it as your offer. The rider chooses which offer to accept. |
| Decline | Pass on the request. |
Your acceptance and cancellation rates affect how often you’re offered requests.
Your matching settings

| Request radius | How far away a pickup can be, set on a slider in the app. |
| Trip length | The shortest and the longest trip you'll take. |
| Your vehicle offers | Air conditioning, pets welcome, smoking allowed, and whether it suits riders with mobility needs. |
| Riders | Choose to be matched with riders of the same gender only. |
| Payments you accept | Which payment methods you take. |
The server applies these when matching, so you only get riders whose trip and preferences fit.
Running a trip

How commission is collected
RYDZ charges its commission once, on the server, when a trip completes.

| Cash trip | You keep the cash. The RYDZ commission comes off your wallet balance. |
| Wallet trip | You're credited the fare minus the RYDZ commission. |
If your wallet balance goes negative, you’re taken offline. Contact RYDZ support if that happens.

Reach RYDZ by phone, WhatsApp or email from Help in the app. You can also save emergency contacts to your profile; the app doesn’t message them.
Deleting your captain account
Captains can't delete their account in the RYDZ Captain app yet. Email support@rydzmw.com with the subject “Account deletion request”.
