Who this page is for
This page explains how to delete an account in the RYDZ rider app (“Rydz - Request a ride”) and the RYDZ Captain app (“Rydz Captain - Driver App”), operated by RYDZ Technologies Limited. It summarises section 5 of our Data Rights, Retention and Account Deletion Policy, which applies in full.
Riders: delete your account in the app
- Open the RYDZ app and sign in.
- Open Settings (from the Account tab, or from the menu in older versions of the app).
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm your decision when asked.
Your account is deactivated and you are signed out straight away. The app tells you the date by which you can still change your mind. Your in-app notifications are deleted at once.
Changing your mind within 30 days
For 30 days after you ask for deletion, you can restore your account:
- Open the RYDZ app and sign in with your usual details.
- A message tells you the account is scheduled for deletion and shows the date.
- Tap Recover my account.
After the 30 days, RYDZ permanently deletes the account and it can no longer be recovered. Permanent deletion is carried out by RYDZ staff, so it can happen some time after the 30 days end rather than at the exact moment they end.
Captains: ask for deletion by email
Captains can't delete their account in the RYDZ Captain app yet. Email RYDZ support with the subject “Account deletion request”, from the email address registered on your Captain account or giving the phone number registered on it. RYDZ confirms the request with you and tells you if anything, such as a wallet balance, needs to be settled first.
Before you delete
Deleting an account does not cancel valid tickets or lawful payment claims. If your RYDZ Wallet holds a balance, or you have unused tickets, contact support before you delete the account so that they can be dealt with.
What is deleted and what is kept
When a rider account is permanently deleted, RYDZ deletes:
- Your profile: name, email address, phone number, photo, preferences and saved emergency contacts.
- Your sign-in account, which ends every session on every device.
- Rides that had not finished.
RYDZ keeps, for legal, financial and safety reasons:
- Completed and cancelled ride records and payment transactions, for financial, tax and dispute purposes.
- Ticket bookings, with the link to your account removed, for Operator and financial records.
- A restricted deletion record: a copy of your profile as it was when you asked for deletion, and an audit entry of the request.
