Rider Terms and Passenger Conditions

Rules for requesting, taking and paying for a ride with a RYDZ Captain.

  • Effective 19 October 2026 · Last updated 19 October 2026 · Version 1.0
  • Applies to: Passengers and account holders who book rides

1. Application

These Rider Terms supplement the Terms of Service for any journey booked through the RYDZ ride-hailing feature. "Rider" means the account holder arranging the ride and, where context permits, passengers traveling in the vehicle. "Captain" means the licensed driver or participating transport provider accepting the request.

2. Making a booking

Enter a lawful pickup location and destination, select the available vehicle class and review the quoted fare, payment method and any displayed additional costs before submitting. Provide the number of passengers and relevant accessibility, mobility or luggage needs through supported channels. A submitted request remains unconfirmed until a Captain accepts and the platform communicates acceptance. A timed-out search, map icon or Captain offer that was not accepted is not a confirmed ride.

3. Pickups and lawful conduct

Be at a safe, lawful pickup point when the Captain arrives; do not request stopping in unsafe, prohibited or obstructive locations. Keep your contact number reachable. Match the vehicle and driver shown in the app before entering. Do not insist the Captain break road laws, exceed seating capacity, carry unlawful items, engage in dangerous speed or use an unsafe route. Seatbelts and any required child restraints must be used in accordance with applicable law.

4. Prices and fare offers

An estimate may reflect time, distance, route, category and demand. When you use the in-app fare-offer feature, you propose a fare, Captains respond with offers, and the fare of the offer you choose is the agreed fare; the rider and Captain must accept the same amount in the app, and off-platform fare changes should not be demanded. Waiting fees, stops, tolls, cleaning charges or destination changes are payable only when lawfully applicable and disclosed or approved according to the booking terms. If there is a pricing discrepancy, request an itemized review instead of paying a second unverified charge. See the Fare, Fee and Price Transparency Policy.

5. Delays, changes and cancellation

ETAs are estimates, and traffic, weather, emergencies, unavailable vehicles and network outages can cause delays. Contact the Captain via available in-app communication rather than sharing unnecessary private details. A new destination, additional stop or route change may require Captain acceptance and a revised price. Follow the Ride Cancellation and Refund Policy, which explains rider and Captain cancellations, late arrival, duplicate charges, cancelled ride authorizations and service failures.

6. Payment and receipts

Rides can currently be paid in cash or from your RYDZ Wallet. Use the method confirmed for your booking; if paying cash, pay the amount reflected in the final trip receipt, subject to legitimate adjustments. If payment is taken from your wallet, check your wallet history before paying again to avoid repeated payment. Report duplicate charges, improper cash demands or suspicious requests. A receipt for a completed ride can be viewed in your ride history in the app or obtained from support.

7. Children and vulnerable passengers

A minor's journey must be booked under the safeguards in the Children and Minors Policy. Do not book an unaccompanied child unless a specifically authorized service and consent procedure expressly allow it. A person needing assistance may disclose the minimum necessary pickup or mobility accommodation needs. Captains must treat users fairly and must not discriminate unlawfully.

8. Baggage, pets, damage and cleanliness

Use vehicle space reasonably and do not bring illegal, hazardous or unsafe materials. Disclose unusually large luggage, mobility aids or animals requiring special accommodation where relevant. Requests involving disability accommodations will be handled consistently with applicable law. Any cleaning or repair charge must be evidence-based, proportionate, attributable to documented conduct and reviewable; ordinary wear, routine dust and unproven allegations are not a basis for arbitrary charges.

9. Safety, property and disputes

Do not threaten, sexually harass, assault, film or publicly post other participants unlawfully. If the vehicle appears unsafe, do not board; cancel using the applicable safety reason and notify support. Report collisions to emergency services and relevant authorities as appropriate. For an item left in a vehicle, contact support promptly; we will facilitate contact where lawful but cannot guarantee recovery. Legitimate compensation rights are unaffected by these Terms.

10. Ratings and reporting

Provide accurate reviews of a completed service. Safety issues are reviewed separately from ordinary quality ratings. False reports, revenge reviews, dishonest refund demands and discriminatory conduct may lead to restrictions after fair assessment. See the Safety Standards, Complaints and Dispute Resolution and Privacy Policy.
