Accessibility and Non-Discrimination Policy

RYDZ commitments on accessibility, assistance animals, mobility aids and fair treatment.

  • Effective 19 October 2026 · Last updated 19 October 2026 · Version 1.0
  • Applies to: Riders, passengers, Captains, Operators and applicants

1. Commitment

RYDZ aims to provide equitable access to its website, mobile applications, ride bookings, ticket sales and support. Users and partners must comply with applicable Malawi law and may not deny service on an unlawful discriminatory basis. Genuine physical, licensing, safety or equipment limitations should be discussed honestly rather than used as a pretext for exclusion.

2. App and web accessibility

We work toward readable typography, meaningful controls, assistive-technology support, sufficient contrast, usable error messages and alternatives to visual-only workflows. A QR ticket should have a valid booking-reference or other fallback if the Operator's process supports it. Actual accessibility conformance must be tested and documented; RYDZ does not claim a certified WCAG conformance level. Send barriers or requests for assistance to support@rydzmw.com.

3. Booking assistance and accommodations

A rider or ticket purchaser may tell support or the relevant carrier about mobility-related needs, wheelchair access, hearing or vision assistance, luggage or mobility aids, preferably before travel. Collect only the information required to arrange service. A standard vehicle may not support every accommodation; RYDZ should state this accurately, look for lawful reasonable alternatives where available and avoid charging arbitrary disability-related fees.

4. Service refusals and safety

A Captain or Operator should not cancel solely because of a lawful accommodation request or a protected personal characteristic. If a vehicle genuinely cannot safely provide the requested service under applicable rules, explain the constraint, document the reason and offer assistance in seeking another suitable option where possible. Do not represent unavailable wheelchair-accessible fleets, special-needs equipment or professional care services as provided.

5. Respect, privacy and complaints

Use respectful language and avoid public disclosure of a passenger's disability, health condition or accommodation details. Report discrimination through in-app support or support@rydzmw.com with the booking reference and what happened. We will investigate proportionately, protect records and provide lawful remedies for inappropriate denials or charges. Partners may be subject to corrective training, suspension or termination after fair review.
